Aurora are pleased to announce that they have been appointed by Wavehub, to carry out a safety audit on their key operational site in Cornwall. The Wavehub project is a unique in the UK, and provides a flexible 33kV or 11kV subsea connection point to facilitate the Research and Development in offshore renewable power projects from around the world, and represents a number of innovative technical concepts in engineering design.

Aurora’s scope will include attending the site to carry out a review and assessment of Wavehub’s specified subcontractor to ensure that all routine and planned maintenance and switching activities are carried out in a safe and competent manner and that all relevant Health Safety and Environmental rules are being followed, that the relevant operator are suitably trained and experienced for the roles they are carrying out and that the operational procedures are being followed and are sufficiently robust for the role they are intended. In addition Aurora will undertake a review of the operational philosophy of the site to identify any weak points or potential cost saving opportunities.
