Oil, Gas & Petrochemical

The sector is decarbonising while managing ageing assets and tightening legislation, opening opportunities in electrification and hydrogen. Working to BS EN, IEC and IEEE/ANSI standards, we cover hazardous-area design, motor starting, arc-flash and full electrical studies.

Overview

Oil and gas installations — onshore and offshore, and often islanded — combine hazardous-area constraints with heavy motor loads and limited fault infrastructure. We build and validate full network models and run the studies needed to operate them safely and reliably across every credible configuration.

That typically spans load flow, fault level, motor starting, harmonics and transient stability, plus protection coordination and arc-flash, along with support on CT sizing and earthing. Islanded networks with limited and variable generation need particular care, because the usual distribution assumptions don’t hold.
