Dynamic & Transients (RMS)

Converter-rich and weak-grid systems behave dynamically in ways steady-state studies miss. We model stability, control interaction and machine response to prove robust performance.

Overview

Converter-dominated and weak-grid systems behave in ways that steady-state studies simply can’t reveal. Using RMS dynamic simulation we assess transient and small-signal stability, controller interaction and sub-synchronous oscillation, and check how machines and inverters ride through faults and recover.

The same models let us tune AVR and PSS settings on synchronous plant, check large-motor starting on industrial networks, and demonstrate that a scheme stays stable through the disturbances the Grid Code specifies. We build and validate these models in PowerFactory and PSCAD, cross-checking behaviour against commissioning data where it exists.

What we deliver
  • Dynamic (RMS)
  • System Stability
  • Sub-Synchronous Oscillation
  • AVR / PSS Tuning
  • Motor Starting
