Aurora was commissioned by Barbados Power and Light Company (BPLC) and WSP to carry out an earthing study for an upgrade of an substation to facilitate connection of a new 30MW diesel power plant. The study consisted of reviewing the existing site documentation and earthing studies carried out in early stages of the project. Once this was complete Aurora created a model of the entire network consisting of the new diesel power station, new substation and existing Solar PV installation in the CDEGS MALZ module and then carried out an detailed fault current distribution analysis using the CDEGS TRALIN and SPLITS modules.
