Part ofmorsonPRAXISWe’ve built AI directly into how we run studies — connected to the industry’s simulation tools, supervised by chartered engineers and wrapped in the data controls serious projects demand. The result is analysis that’s faster, broader and more rigorously checked, without ever taking the engineer out of the loop.
Aurora has invested heavily in applying AI to power system analysis — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine step-change in how quickly and thoroughly we can model, test and validate a network. Our engineers work alongside AI systems that drive the simulation tools directly, interrogate large result sets in seconds and cross-check a study from every angle. AI does the heavy lifting; our chartered engineers make the judgements and sign off the work.
We’ve built direct interfaces to DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD and ETAP, so our AI systems work inside the same simulation packages we already trust — setting up cases, running studies and reading results in the real tools, not a simplified stand-in. AI-assisted work maps straight onto the models and reports clients expect.
By combining AI with established engineering workflows we cover more scenarios, surface more issues and turn studies around faster. The AI widens the search and does the heavy lifting; the engineer sets the direction and confirms the outcome.
AI accelerates the work — it never signs it off. Every model, setting and conclusion is reviewed and approved by a chartered engineer before it leaves the door. Accountability stays exactly where it belongs.
Modern studies generate huge volumes of data — time-series traces, harmonic scans, fault tables, protection settings. Our tooling sifts, correlates and flags what matters across thousands of data points in a fraction of the time manual review would take.
We use AI to interrogate and stress-test models and settings — our own and third parties’ — checking assumptions, spotting inconsistencies and confirming that a study genuinely supports its conclusions. A tireless extra layer of scrutiny on every project.
We work across frontier models, locally-hosted models and purpose-built engineering agents, matching the tool to the task and constraining each with strict guardrails. Sensitive work can run entirely on controlled, in-house infrastructure.
Client data is handled under clear controls — scoped access, managed storage and, where required, fully local processing that never leaves our environment. Confidentiality and IP protection are built into the workflow, not bolted on afterwards.
This isn’t off-the-shelf AI. We’ve developed our own interfaces, prompts, guardrails and validation routines specifically for power system engineering — and we keep refining them as the technology, the tools and the grid codes evolve.
Speed means nothing if the answer is wrong. Every AI-assisted study runs behind guardrails and ends with a chartered engineer’s review — the same standard of scrutiny and accountability our clients have always relied on.
And your data stays yours: handled under clear access and storage controls, with the option to run sensitive work entirely on our own infrastructure.
