Aurora was commissioned by SSE Contracting to carry out a soil resistivity survey and a full earthing study for a new 11kV substation being added to a complex naval base.

Typically these sorts of sites would be assessed as a Global Earthing System (GES), but following an extended discussion with the site Technical Authority (TA), and due to the historical configuration of the network and the sensitivity of the site, a fully developed model of the earthing system was created using the CDEGS design package.
