About Us

Overview

Aurora Power Consulting are based in the UK and provide specialist power system analysis services to the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. We have familiarity with most international codes and standards and can support any major electrical infrastructure project.

As a company we specialise in power system modelling and analysis, whether this is for transmission connected assets such as synchronous condensers, renewable power generation at the sub-transmission and distribution level.

Our services include power systems analysis, earthing design and analysis, HV / EHV design and general consultancy services across a range of industries.  Our services are carried out with industry leading software packages such as DigSILENT Powerfactory, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP-ATP, CDEGS, XGSLab and Matlab / Simulink.

The company was originally created in early 2007 and provided only limited services, but began a major transformation in 2018 to become a full consultancy (SPE Electrical), and have grown rapidly since, formally rebranding to Aurora Power Consulting in 2022 to better reflect our services.

We are fully covered by professional indemnity insurance, which includes design activities for building services, critical services, water, data centres, oil & gas plants, refinery and other similar high risk environments.

Philosophy: We Work With You

At Aurora we adopt a partnership approach where we work with you, to help your business grow – we believe that the best way to grow our business, is by helping you to grow your business. At the heart of our business strategy is an understanding that power system analysis is a complex process, that many companies view as high risk and a niche area.

Our vision is to help the world decarbonize, by providing specialist analysis services to all major electrical users. Our services are shaped to help renewable power companies meet regulatory requirements and get connected as smoothly an d efficiently as possible, and to help industrial users to understand their electrical systems  and rise to the challenges and opportunities of a zero carbon future.

Our goal is to build mutually beneficial long lasting relationships. We aim to simplify and de-risk the simulation and analysis process, to help our customers focus on what they do best.

We aim to work with our clients to help them understand the importance of correct system analysis, and how it can help to simplify the compliance process and ultimately help them deliver their projects by de-risking and simplifying the process, and providing clear guidance and feedback on improvements that can be implemented.
