Transformer Enerigsation Studies

Smart Transformer Station Assessment

Aurora was commissioned by Huawei to carry out a series of transformer energisation studies, to assess roll out of the Huawei smart transformer substations in the UK, and to help identify any problems with transformer energisation and ENA p28/2 compliance prior to the new product roll-out.

Aurora carried out an overall sensitivity analysis for the new product range, by carrying out a number of different energisation studies for a range of the Huawei 2 winding and 2 winding transformers at both 11kV and 33kV. The sensitivity analysis assessed typical solar PV site design and configurations for individual and group energisation of transformers, for a range of different fault levels to identify the voltage deviation on the utility busbars and the likely Rapid Voltage Change (RVC) energisation class and compliance with the ENA P28/2 standard.
