Aurora was commissioned by Harmony Energy UK to carry out a number of preliminary ENA P28/2 studies for a number of battery energy storage sites within the UK, ranging from 5MW up to 100MW.

The ENA P28/2 studies focused on the important issue of power swing of the BESS during operation in the Dynamic Containment and Fast Frequency Response markets. The studies considered the operation of the proposed BESS sites for power swings between full import to full export, full export to full import and trip of the site under full load conditions for differing power factors to help identify any design and development problems prior to financial investment decisions.
