Aurora Power Consulting was contracted by Linxon to carry out an arc flash study for a major 275/220/15kV onshore substation supplying the Seagreen offshore windfarm.

Aurora’s scope was to review the existing protection scheme, and site layout provided by the Client, and then to create an overall model of the system using DIgSILENT Powerfactory. Once the model had been created Aurora then carried out an arc flash study to assess the incident energy (I.E) levels on the sytem, considering the actual Fault Clearance Times (FCT) and the subsequent Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE).
