Power System Studies adn Earthing Study

Newcastle Science Park

Aurora was contracted by JCP Consulting Engineers to carry out a number of power system studies for a major new development in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

Aurora’s scope included developing a power system model of the whole system in ETAP to determine the fault levels during normal, outage and emergency conditions, and then a subsequent protection coordination study for the whole site, for phase and earth fault cases. In addition, Aurora carried out a soil resistivity survey and a detailed CDEGS simulation model of the earthing system of the entire site to determine the EPR and associated touch and step voltages.
