Aurora had placed a Senior Consultant into Jacobs offices to support them in a range of Oil & Gas projects. One of the larger projects that Aurora supported was development of a conceptual design study and Pre-FEED for a joint venture between BP and IOC for a new acetic acid facility in India. Aurora undertook a detailed study report to identify the security of electricity supply in the region, as the process was highly sensitive and a power loss of greater than 200ms could have lead to several days of lost production.
As part of the study, Aurora assessed whether the site should be powered via simple 220kV connections from a local substation, twin independent 220kV grid connections, or via an independent power plant, or combined grid and captive power plant.
