Earthing Consultant, Aurora was hired by Cenin Renewables to undertook earthing studies for 2 new PV solar farms. One of the PV farms was rated at 6MW, and connected at 33kV to Western Power Distribution, while the smaller solar farm was rated at 3MW and connected at 11kV, also to WPD.
As part of these studies, Aurora undertook detailed earthing analysis using the ETAP ground grid module to identify the site Earth Potential Rise (EPR), and the associated touch and step voltages and tolerable limits and prepared a detailed earthing philosophy drawing and connection schematic.
